LOVER LOVES The Like.

Last evening Lover held their next installment of LOVER LOVES...

An intimate acoustic showing of the cutie pie, all-girl band The Like. 'Release me' has been popping up into my playlists for years now, so when the Girls dropped into Lover HQ to pick outfits for the night, to say I was ecstatic is an understatment. ‘Z’, Tennessee, Annie and Laena, channeling 1960's mod-bombs, looked all kinds of pretty in there monotone Lover combos.  Dispite the rain, the night was a warm buzz thanks to the friends of Lover, and a lot of yum hotchoc drinks.

Stay tuned.....

Warpaint

Recently, I had dinner with a friend who has returned home from LA and amongest mumbles and mega burgers, she mentioned I check out her friend's band.  The same night I happend to stumble upon a clip over on It's nice that and was completly sold.

"Their track Elephants from that very record is a brooding, wall of well-pitched shrieks that gets my heart racing, and that was before I even saw the video. A perfectly, simply filmed piece of film that is happy to let the music do the talking, and we’re happy to listen."

Thanks for the wise-up Josie.

Wild Beasts

The video for the first single, "Hooting & Howling", from Wild Beasts eagerly awaited sophomore album, "Two Dancers". This comes as a follow up to their 2008 debut LP, "Limbo, Panto", without doubt one of the finest releases of this young century.

The Mannequins

Ash and Jono met for the first time on a shot for a Topman campaign earlier this year. "We kept on bumping into each other at various shoots," explains Jono. "One night, after the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week, we drunkenly joked about starting a band. Three weeks later, we were in a studio with Tom rehursing together."

The Mannequins play raw old-school punk that references everything from Adam Ant to Pantera. It comes as a bit of a suprise then, when the Mannequins also list High School Musical as a sorce of inspiration. "We're working on our own renditions of the songs" laughs Jono. "We were thinking of getting Zac Efron to do backing vocals for us."

NÚMERO DOS
/ MM PARIS
'TREE OF SIGNS'

M/M Paris, in collaboration with Icelandic artist Gabríela Friðriksdóttir, have created a rather ugly - I mean - conceptual - 'Tree of Signs', based on M/M's previous type treatment for Björk's album Medulla. It's the first man-made structure to be seen in the undeveloped space of
Urriðaholt.

Speaking of Björk, I'm STILL waiting on my Wanderlust 3D special collectors pack... it's been 3 months now...
